California Prison Overcrowding Leads To Sex Offenders Being Released On The Regular

Stockton, California (CNN) — Convicted sex offenders and other felons in California are systematically walking free, despite continuously violating their parole. It’s the result of laws meant to alleviate California’s overcrowded prisons and jails. Two years ago, county judges all across the state lost their authority to send convicted felons back to prison for parole violations. Instead, they must send them to county jails. Because county jails are dealing with their own overcrowding issues, these sex offenders and other felons are basically being recycled in and out of county jails across the state, according to records obtained by CNN. “When parolees get arrested, they get released the next day,” said Susan Kane, a Department of Corrections supervising agent in Stockton, just outside San Francisco. “So it doesn’t matter how bad they are or what’s happened. If there are no fresh criminal charges, they are released the next day back into the community.”  Kane emphasized that she was not speaking as a representative of the entire state Department of Corrections. The 30-year law enforcement veteran, who is getting ready to retire, says she is “at a total loss.” “I can honestly say, we do our job, we do the very best job we can, but we can’t protect the community with this,” she said. “We can’t protect them from these sex offenders because they get out of jail the next day.”

Prison overcrowding is a huge problem in our country, The US has the highest prison population in the world. Some say that’s bad, others say it’s good. I don’t really have an opinion either way. But I do have an opinion on which crimes should be imprisoned over others. So here’s a list of the order in which I think criminals should be stuck in jail. Keep in mind I’m trying to generalize them into categories so I’m only using major crimes here.

1. Murderers

2. Child Molesters/Rapists/Kidnappers

3. Assault With Deadly Weapon

4. Drug Dealing

5. Theft/Robbery

I tried to put them in order of how I feel they affect human beings. If you take someones life, you deserve to be imprisoned for your whole life. I’m big on the eye for an eye treatment. So murderers get the top spot. Then anything that has to do with taking advantage of a child goes second. Those are the biggest sickos of all and I’d like them to stay the fuck out of the community, please. The only reason I didn’t put them first was because people still live their lives after fucked up shit happened to them as a child. Third I put assault with a deadly weapon because you pretty much intended to or could have killed someone. So you’re probably a really violent person who is unstable and unsafe to be around. Drug dealers get the fourth spot because they provide the drugs that fuck up a lot of peoples lives. Plus, drug dealers are usually gang members who usually assault people with deadly weapons and are involved in murders, yadda yadda yadda. Vicious cycle. Rounding out the list is thieves/robbers. I put them last because getting robbed sucks, but you can move on pretty quickly. I’ve been robbed, and I know people who have been robbed. You just kinda shrug your shoulders and say, “Well at least I didn’t get hurt.” So that’s why robbery is in the last spot.

Did I miss anything? Do you agree with my list?

  1. […] piles of steaming shit walk by a car and steal six fucking puppies?! I think I need to revise my list of criminals and their corresponding jail time. Dognappers take the #3 spot for […]
